Earlier in the week, 4 members of the Board of Directors of the X-League resigned from their positions in the wake of the controversy surrounding CEO George Williams banning a bowler from the X-League for going public regarding a text message sent from Williams to an unnamed female.
In response to those resignations, Williams released a memo via Facebook apologizing to the community and the board for his actions.
In the memo (which can be seen above), Williams went on to say that he needed time to reflect on the situation in order to continue growing the X-League.
However, not to be outdone, the former Board Members released their own memo earlier today via Facebook explaining their resignations. In the memo, they referenced a teaser video released by Williams in which Williams seemingly bashes the Underground Bowling Association (UBA). They go on to explain that they do not agree with the handling of the teaser video, which played a role in the ultimate decision.
Williams teaser video, however, was not the only bashing that went on. Earlier, a former Board member was interviewed on the popular Straight Up 5 podcast as well, going as far as to say that these other organizations were robbing people, which was Williams reason for originally creating the X-League.
Be that as it may, the X-League continues to face obstacles with the resignations of these board members. Only time will tell if the league itself is able to get past this situation.
