Welcome to the Bowlage.com Similar Bowling Balls Tool. When shopping for a new bowling ball, many of us (most of us? all of us?) tend to take a look at the current bowling balls in our arsenal to get a better idea of what bowling balls are currently on the market that are similar to the ones we're throwing. For example, say you're currently throwing a Roto Grip UC2, but the ball is old and you want another ball that is similar to that one. Most of us rely on our Pro Shop guys to give us the best advice on similar bowling balls. The problem with this is that almost all Pro Shop guys have staff contracts with ball manufacturers, so they tend to advise you to use a bowling ball from that manufacturer as a way to meet their contractual obligations. And while the Pro Shop guys are very knowledgeable, sometimes we want to do the research ourselves to see what else is out there.

Now you can see what other balls are out there that are similar to the one you're currently throwing simply by using this tool. Simply type out the first 3 characters of the ball you want to look up in the space below. A box will pop-up with all available balls in the database that have those characters. Choose your ball and click Submit. A list will pop-up of the 10 bowling balls currently on the market that are the most similar to the one you're looking up. The bowling balls listed are in order by similarity with a nifty little meter at the top showing just how similar they are based on a number of different criteria. Those criteria that match exactly with the ball you're looking up will be bolded. The ball you're looking up will be highlighted on the left in yellow.

So the next time you go into your local pro shop and tell the Pro Shop guy what you're looking for, you'll already know what you're looking for. Go ahead, use the tool, it's totally free to all members and guests.
