He came. He saw. He conquered.
Congratulations to Jesse Gibson for securing Bowlage Title #1 by winning the Simple 7-Game Sweeper Mark Roth Tournament at Herrill Lanes this afternoon.
In a field of 41, the scores were definitely on the high side, led by Michael Martell's game 6 perfect game 300. Gibson though was steady throughout, firing off games of 237, 268, 235, 198, 269, 265 and 220 to finish +292, 23 pins ahead of runner-up Jeremy Milito.
Alex Cavagnaro was the comeback story of the day, as he started with a 135 game 1. However, Alex averaged 244 over the last 6 games to actually nab a cash spot, an astonishing turnaround.
But Gibson stole the spotlight in convincing fashion and in doing so took home the trophy and the $750 first place prize, on top of the additional side pots he won.
Rounding out the Top 7 cashing spots were Milito (+269), Martell (+246), Kurt Schall (+245), Robert Rowe III (+206), Cavagnaro (+201) and Andrew Hall (+196).
