Earlier this morning, one of the members of the Board of Directors of the X-League made a post in the X-League: New Jersey/NY Facebook Group explaining that 4 members of the Board of Directors would be resigning effective immediately. The 4 members, Jeffrey Geller, Jeremy Geller, Mark Colineri and Mike Valanzano, are all respected members of the bowling community and so, while this doesn't come as a surprise, it certainly does come at a crucial point of the X-League and its future.
While no reasoning was given publicly for this mass exodus, it can be assumed that one of the factors is the story that broke regarding the controversy surrounding the CEO of the X-League, George Williams, and his banning of Brian Fellows in the wake of a text message sent by Williams to a female acquaintance. Whether other factors are involved in this decision remain to be seen. As of this article, no board members have spoken publicly about the decision.
