In January of this year, ownership for the popular bowling center Rainbow Lanes in Clayton, North Carolina decided to put a listing for their center up for sale. Listed on propertyshark.com at $11M, the center was expected to sell in the coming months.
It seems the owners have changed course.
Multiple sources are confirming that the center is no longer up for sale and ownership instead opted to convert the center to string pins in an effort to save the business. The listing, which was posted in the Bowlage Facebook Group, has indeed been removed from propertyshark, so, while the news of this conversion hasn't yet been publicly released, it seems the rumor may have some merit.
One source, who requested to remain anonymous, said this change will "allegedly save rainbow $100k in labor and other things plus $1k [per] lane in repairs a year."
The source also confirmed that the installation of the string pins will begin August 5th and all lanes and leagues will be ready for the upcoming winter season. This conversion is the first league center in the area that will have all leagues on string pins.
