Last night at Coram Country Lanes there was an epic battle. Not just because this was the last night of the 2nd quarter, or that these 2 teams were in 3rd & 4th respectively with a chance to move up. This was a battle of the Mirabiles.
Frank Mirabile, bowling on the 3rd place team, usually bowls in the 2nd position, but he decided to move to the first spot to bowl against his son Michael, who bowls on the 4th place team. After some light banter about the move, the younger Mirabile asked his father if he wanted some side action on the night, and Frank happily obliged.
Michael rolled decent games of 233, 212 & 225, but he was no match for his father. Frank had games of 239, 278 & 232, earning him a clean sweep, a few inconsequential dollars and more importantly, bragging rights.
After bowling concluded, Michael’s teammate Jeremy Milito turned in the line of the evening when he said to Michael, “How are your going to beat Kyle Troup this weekend at the Players Championship, you couldn’t even beat you dad…”
Not easily, Jeremy, not easily.
