Former L.I. Bowler Faces Possible Job Loss for Sending Santa Cards to Kids

Some of you may know him.  He used to bowl at various centers on Long Island, such as East Islip Lanes, AMF Sayville Lanes and the now-defunct Farmingdale Lanes.  He subbed in many others.  He has 18 perfect games to his name, 6 800+ series and bowlers for the Striking Lunatics Federation team.  Now he may lose his job.

Matthew Lupo is currently on suspension from his job as a postal worker with the Brightwaters Postal Service and the community is coming to his aid.  As seen in the video above, many members of the community are shocked at what is transpiring and are posting signs saying "Save Matt the Mailman" on their lawns in order to have him reinstated. And while the Brightwaters Postal Service will not publicly say why he's on suspension without pay, local community members aren't being so quiet.

large.Untitled.png.601246a8d3a8cdbfd2dcbOne of the local community members took to social media earlier today, explaining that the reason Mr. Lupo was suspended is because some of the local children would write letters to Santa and put them in the mailbox on his route.  Lupo would take the cards home, reply to them as Santa on his time off, and then place them back in the mailbox with no return address so the children thought they were getting replies from the real St. Nick.  The user went on to say that the reason for this was because of a "New Post Master on a power trip," though this cannot be substantiated.

Be that as it may, Lupo remains on suspension without pay pending a legal action.  The lawn signs and bumper stickers are available at Brightwaters Beverage for $8.

Permission was received to write this article.  Unfortunately an interview could not be conducted due to a pending legal matter.
