Alex Aguiar almost witnessed history in the making. So did all of East Providence Lanes.

Earlier this evening, in the Tuesday Night Trios League at East Providence Lanes, the trios team of Derrick Leveillee, Ricky Larouche and Chris Baker had a chance at history.  According to the USBC website, the high 3-person team game was bowled in 2015 in Bridgeport, MI, where the team of Brian McMahon Jr., Steve Novak and Bobby Sanch III bowled an 899 team game.  Tonight, the record almost went down.

Starting with the front 9 strikes each, they all went into the 10th frame with a chance at breaking the record. Leveillee was up first and threw 3 solid strikes in the 10th for the first 300.  They were 6 strikes away.  Larouche went next and threw 2 perfect strikes before leaving an unfortunate 7-pin for a 299.  Baker was up next with a chance to tie the record, however his first shot came up high for a 7-count (which he chopped), leaving him with a 263 game and an 862 team game.  Congrats for a HUGE game!

Watch the video below . . . in which the entire bowling center stopped bowling to watch the near historical achievement:
