Congratulations to local bowler Alex Cavagnaro for winning yesterday's PBA Bowlero Deptford Open from Bowlero Deptford. Bowling out of Mamaroneck with a full field of 80 entrants, Cavagnaro shot splendidly throughout the event.
During qualifying, Alex jumped out to an early lead, pacing the way with a torrid +374 for the first 7 games and building a hefty 81 pin lead on second place after averaging 253.
During the Match Play round, he went 3 - 4, compiling a score of 1630 for the 7 game round, an average of a little over 232. Added to the first round scores, he was at 3404, but because Brandon Runk won a few more matches, he earned more bonus pins, cutting the overall lead to just 39 pins headed into the final round.
In the final Position Round, Cavagnaro averaged over 246, shooting 3703 for the 15 games, which, with bonus pins added due to his 4 - 4 record, earned him the first prize of $2,600. Rounding out the Top 5 in order were Ryan Grayawacz, Brandon Runk, Jeremy Domingo and Aaron Major. Other major notables were Ryan Shafer (6th) and Anthony Pepe (11th). This was Cavagnaro's third career PBA Regional win.
