Proprietor Rob Eggert officially posted and confirmed on popular social media platform Facebook that Long Island bowling center Bowl Long Island at Patchogue will be closing its doors for good. In his post, Eggert explains that the landlord of the property has opted to sell due to financial hardships in an effort to make back lost revenue from closing in March, 2020 due to COVID. The center also had a setback a few months ago when part of the roof caved in, causing yet another delay in reopening.
Eggert went on to say that the center went so far as to apply for loans and grants in order to continue operating, but in the end, the recent economic downfall was simply too powerful to withstand. He also listed familial and personal losses as well as insurance hiccups as additional, contributing factors in the decision.
