An injunction was placed on Shell Lanes in Brooklyn, NY, ordering the owner of the property, Fred Eckert, to hand over the keys immediately. The injunction was filed on May 1, 2020 by shareholders of Shell Enterprises Sidney Blank, Leonard Eckert and Stephen Eckert.
The injunction claims that Fred Eckert, 25% shareholder, "has been in the exclusive possession of the books and records of the corporations and has exclusively managed the corporation without the involvement of any of the other shareholders since at least 2015. The Petition alleges various improprieties including breach of fiduciary duty, waste, mismanagement, unjust enrichment, breach of contract and other claims."
After speaking with a league member of Shell Lanes who requested to remain anonymous, the center did not pay out any league prize funds this past season despite the owners "knowing before the season started they were going to close." The league and league officers had NO idea what was going on, per sources. Likewise, the employees of the center were also taken completely by surprise.
The case is currently pending. Full details of the case can be found here.
